Brief Biography
Karol Schittini, born in 1984, is a multilingual Brazilian artist from Coronel Fabriciano, Minas Gerais. She holds a licentiate degree in Theatre from Cesgranrio University (2025), a Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from UFMG - Federal University of Minas Gerais (2004), graduated from the Martins Pena Technical Theatre School in Rio de Janeiro/ 2007, and completed postgraduate studies in "Afro-Amerindian Staging and Performance" at UNIRio - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro/ 2017, and "Art of F(R)iction - Feminisms, Decoloniality, Autobiography and Performance" at UERJ - Federal University of the Staty of Rio de Janeiro/ 2022.
Debuted in amateur theatre at age 11 with director Ricardo Maia (Ipatinga, Minas Gerais), and has been a registered professional since age 18. She has specializations in Dramatic Corporeal Mime, dance, music, circus, and audiovisual arts.
With her first solo performance, she completed 9 international tours and received 8 awards at national festivals. Her second solo performance was created from a 3-month artistic residency in the Iberian Peninsula with the support of the Association Les Apprentis de l'Espérance (Marseille/FR). She participated in artistic residencies in the Iberian Peninsula, each lasting 3 months, in 2015 and 2016.
In theatre, she has acted in more than 20 productions, notably "Na Cozinha" by Renato Carrera (2019) and "Berenguendém" by Sidnei Cruz (2018); and in cinema, she has acted in 10 short films and 2 feature films. In 2011/2012, she was an actress-researcher with the Moitará Theatre Group, a reference in the creation and staging of masks. She was a member of the Muanes Dance Theatre Group/ Rio de Janeiro from 2017 to 2019. In 2025, she acted in the TV Record/BR biblical series - "Paul, The Apostle". She was a pediatric hospital clown in the Doktor Klovn project during the years 2016-2019.
In 2022, she joined LANANI - Laboratory of Black and Indigenous Narratives for Audiovisual Media, a partnership between TV GLOBO and FLUP(Literary Fair of the Peripheries). In 2023, she took a Documentary Filmmaking course with choreographer and filmmaker Carmen Luz.
Also in 2023, she was responsible for stage direction, dramaturgy, and art direction (costumes, puppets, and masks) for the children's musical theatre "Pixinguinha para Crianças". In 2020, she took the online course "Environmental Racism" from Parley Brazil.
She has been a co-creator and producer of the Festival Rio de Violas since 2017.

From 2017 to 2019, she was part of the Doktor Klovn project as a hospital clown in the pediatric wards of 6 hospitals in the city of Rio de Janeiro. She took the International Cultural Management workshop, taught by Nathalie Redant, at CCBB RJ, 2015 (12h). Occasionally works as a life model in drawing classes at the in universities Parque Lage School of Visual Arts/RJ 2024 and at the School of Fine Arts and Design of PUC/RJ.
She has been a Micro Individual Entrepreneur in Theatre Production since 2012 / Trupiniquim Produções.
Since 2000, she has offered the art-education workshop "Children's Dramatization," specializing in workshops for people with disabilities or special needs.

Complete Curriculum
At age 11, Karol debuts in amateur theater in Minas Gerais. At 12, she acts as Julieta (Romeu&Julieta, by William Shakespeare), directed by Ricardo Maia. At 18, she moves to the capital of Minas Gerais, receives the professional registration DRT 5927, enters the Undergraduate Program in Performing Arts at the Federal University of Minas Gerais/ UFMG. In the city Belo Horizonte acted in adult and children's theatre, highlighting long seasons with "A bruxinha que era Boa" by Maria Clara Machado, directed by Dirceu Alves.

Participated in artistic residencies from Oct-Dec/2016: Oriental Dances in Toulouse/FR with Clara Misrai/ creation and editing at Cirque des Contraires Paris/FR, and creation and at the Festival de Dança de Marseille/FR. With the first authorial theatrical solo “Residência no Redemoinho”, directed by Jiddu Saldanha, inspired by the Brazilian literature of Sertão, with excerpts by João Guimarães Rosa, she received 8 awards at national festivals, toured 06 Brazilian states and toured 05 countries in the South America and Europe.
Since 2008, she has acted in 9 fiction short films (one of them in Porto/PT), 1 documentary and 2 video clips. she acted in the 2012 SONHOS DE COR IZA Micro-Series.
In 2010, she made his first international tour in Portugal as a tambourine player for singer Luciane Menezes/ for MinC Intercâmbio de Difusão Cultural.
Participated in the Intensive Course (40h) in International Cultural Management with Natalie Rondant CCBB-RJ 2013.
In 2012 he opened MEI – Trupiniquim Produções Artísticas e Culturais with which she carried out (production and performance) more than 20 projects in 7 Brazilian states, among which they received 14 awards at festivals in different categories. As MEI, she was invited by manager Nádia Medella, from Centro Cultural Municipal Laurinda Santos Lobo/ RJ to curate and produce children's programming for the 2nd / 2013. She was a judge at the I Festival de Esquetes NET Rio in the city of Volta Redonda/RJ in 2012.
She is part of the Parley Environmental Racism Course for The Oceans Brasil, and participated in the Plastic-Free Week 27-07/31/2020.
